The tariff drama has spooked markets and reignited the old-school safe-haven play. With global uncertainty soaring, Gold and Silver are FLYING.

• Gold Rush: Gold futures hit $4,280.20 on Oct 16, up 2.47% intraday, driven by trade fears and an 85% chance of a Fed rate cut next month. Tariffs alone added a ~$200/oz premium since September.

• Silver Stuns: Silver hit $51.70 on Oct 13 — its first all-time high in 45 years — fueled by a short squeeze and supply fears from tariff-hit mining and electronics sectors. Up 73% YTD vs. gold’s 45%.

• Dollar Down: The DXY has dropped 10% since Trump took office on Jan 20, 2025. As faith in the USD slips, capital is pouring into gold, silver, and somewhat Bitcoin.

  

If Trump and Xi manage a truce, expect a pullback. But if tariffs go full send, gold could hit $4,500+, silver $60+.

Crypto liquidations and lessons

Crypto got caught in the crossfire. Last Friday’s flash crash saw nearly all leverage wiped clean.

And after markets somewhat recovered earlier this week, the market is once again visiting the lows of last Friday.

While some are calling this the end of the cycle, we believe it looks more like another shakeout. This entire cycle, crypto has repeated the pattern ‘three steps forward, two steps back’. Between entering late-longs and borrowing fees, leverage traders have been wrung dry.

As we’ve said before, this cycle will be led by institutional investments. BTC, ETH and SOL have made the biggest headway on Wall St., and will lead the charge back.

Good afternoon Crypto Enthusiasts,

I was halfway through writing this week’s piece before the markets decided to play an Uno reverse card and send prices into the netherworld. So instead, let’s dig into whether the cycle might actually be over, and why this time.. it might truly be different.

The Setup

Historically, October and November are two of the strongest months for crypto. Just last week, Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $126,000, Solana touched $235, and for the first time ever, total crypto market cap crossed $4.2 trillion.

Ironically, crypto ripped higher during the same week the U.S. government shut down. As strange as it sounds, shutdowns have historically been bullish for risk assets.

The Perfect Storm

So what caused this sudden nuke? A few factors collided at once:

1. Trump’s Tariff Bombshell
   This afternoon, Donald Trump announced a 100% tariff on all Chinese goods, on top of existing tariffs. That effectively froze global trade expectations overnight. The timing made things worse since it came on a Friday afternoon when institutions typically risk-off going into the weekend and markets are illiquid.

2. Equity Market Euphoria
   Stocks were showing clear signs of froth. AI and tech names were on a tear with stretched valuations and euphoric sentiment. ChatGPT’s new partnership with AMD added $100B to their market cap overnight. Wall St. favorites like HOOD, PLTR, and COIN were seeing 2–5% daily gains like it was normal price action. It’s not.

3. Rumoured Trading Desk Blowups
   Over $6 billion in liquidations hit within an hour. That doesn’t happen without casualties. Rumours are swirling that a certain market maker got wiped out.

4. Potential Foul Play
   One anonymous whale reportedly dropped a perfectly timed $100M short on Hyperliquid just minutes before the tariff announcement. You can draw your own conclusions.

Unironicaly, this dip might have marked the local bottom for crypto markets. Generally, the initial shock of the news front runs the real impact of putting tariffs into place.

It’s probably too early to determine anything, but as Warren Buffet once said “Scared money don’t make money.”

The 4-Year Cycle and Why It’s Fading

Bitcoin’s price cycles have long been tied to its halving events, which happen roughly every four years. Historically, it’s taken about 1,050 to 1,070 days from cycle bottom to cycle top.

The 2022 bottom after the FTX crash to the projected top in October 2025 (today) lines up almost perfectly with that timeline. But this time, several factors suggest the traditional model might be breaking down.

1. Diminishing Halving Impact
Each halving now has a smaller relative effect. Going from 12 to 6 BTC per block was massive. Going from 3 to 1.5 BTC? Not so much.

2. The Interest Rate Shift
Past crypto cycles played out in a near-zero-rate world. This one saw rates spike to 5% and only now trending lower. As liquidity returns, risk assets like crypto attract flows again.

3. The Institutional Era
Unlike retail-driven cycles of the past, this one’s been powered by institutions like BlackRock, Fidelity, and corporate treasuries stacking BTC. Institutional buyers are less likely to panic-sell. That dampens volatility but also changes cycle psychology.

The Financial Awakening

People are waking up to the depreciating nature of fiat. Governments keep choosing easy money over fiscal responsibility, expanding the money supply instead of addressing debt.

Even now, as the U.S. faces a shutdown, everyone knows how this ends: with a bigger budget and more liquidity entering the system. As a result, Gold just broke $4,000 for the first time ever. If Bitcoin really is digital gold, then its upside remains enormous.

Final Thoughts

We don’t believe this is the end of crypto cycles, but we do believe the game has changed.

Institutional flows, global macro policy, and liquidity mechanics now drive crypto far more than retail emotion. The asymmetric, lottery-style gains might be behind us, but a new era of long-term, structural adoption is here.

Market Overview

Crypto is seeing a cautious pullback this week, with global market cap down 2.2% to $3.83T, as the Fear and Greed Index ticks higher. Bitcoin (BTC) slipped to a two-week low, dipping under $109K.

Popular X influencer, Ansem, has called for the Market Top, which has divided the crypto community. Although traditional 4-year cycles would put us in the ball park of a cycle-top, many would argue that: the ample liquidity, rate cuts and institutional buying has made the 4-year cycle pattern, irrelevant.

September 21 saw over $1.6B in liquidations, the largest single day of 2025, driven by heavy institutional outflows, including -$360M from Spot Bitcoin ETFs. Some analysts point to the timing of “Triple Witching” as a catalyst.

The Triple Witching refers to the simultaneous expiration of three types of derivatives contracts on the same day:

• Stock index futures

• Stock index options

• Single-stock options

This happens four times a year on the third Friday of March, June, September, and December. This can cause sharp, sometimes temporary moves in equities, as institutions de-risk positions.

Historical Monthly Returns

September has historically been one of crypto’s weakest months. Since inception, Bitcoin’s monthly returns for September has averaged -3.38%. The good news is that October and November are two of Bitcoin’s best performing months, averaging double digit returns. Patience is key here.

M2: The Bigger Picture

Despite the short-term chop, M2 money supply continues to blaze higher. If BTC simply tracked M2 growth, fair value would already sit near $200K. With more cuts on the horizon and liquidity still expanding, the evidence points to higher asset prices ahead, the current pullback looks more like a blip than a trend.

Meteora hints at token launch

Meteora, a leading Solana DeFi platform for liquidity and trading, is gearing up for its $MET token launch and airdrop this October. The airdrop rewards early users through a points system, with 15% of total supply being allocated: 8% for 2024, 5% for 2025, and 2% for qualifying retail users.

With $1.25B in open interest and strong fee generation, Aster’s low-cost, high-leverage model is draining liquidity from Hyperliquid. The $HYPE token is down 30% from all time highs, and some traders are calling for a “slow death” as Aster cements its advantage.

Hard to say.. but this chart is worth a look.

It’s the S&P 500 divided by M2 money supply, which shows the real growth in the economy once you strip out all the money printing.

• Last big spike? 1999/2000—aka peak dot-com mania.

• Today’s spike? You could call it the AI bubble.

Here’s the kicker: we still haven’t surpassed the dot-com peak. That suggests there might be room to run. But I’ll be real with you, it’s starting to feel like late-game, 4th quarter energy.

WLFI’s failure to launch

The Trump-backed World Liberty Financial (WLFI) token debuted on Labor Day and immediately face-planted.

• Peaked at $0.40

• Now trading at $0.18 (-55%) within hours of launch

To make it worse, the token program raised eyebrows by blacklisting wallets, including Justin Sun’s Solana address. Not exactly the decentralized spirit they promised.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell delivered a highly anticipated speech this morning at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium, sending a bullish jolt through financial markets.

He noted: “The shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting our policy stance.”

Markets took that as a green light. The FedWatch tool now shows an 83% chance of a September rate cut.. up from 75% prior to the speech. That alone triggered a sharp rally in crypto, pushing total market cap back above $4 trillion. Equities followed, with the S&P closing up +1.52%.

But the market is still walking a tightrope.

As the Kobeissi Letter highlighted, the Fed is on the verge of cutting rates into stagflation ~ a toxic mix of high inflation, stagnant growth, and elevated unemployment. When inflation runs hot, cash loses value fast. That’s why owning assets that can appreciate with inflation (real estate, commodities, equities & crypto) becomes essential.

Technical Analysis

Bitcoin bounced from $111K to $117K, though momentum has stalled around the 200D SMA. Meanwhile, Bitcoin dominance is dropping fast, with altcoins like Ethereum and Solana stealing the spotlight.

Ethereum has been the darling of 2025. Since bottoming at $1500 in April, earlier this year, it’s been on a monster 220% run. Ethereum tapped $4,800 before retracing to $4,000, and has now rallied all the way to new all time highs. Fundstrat’s Tom Lee is predicting this move will take us to $5,100.

Solana ripped from $180 to $200 this afternoon, holding support, but is now facing heavy resistance in the $200–$220 zone. Unlike BTC and ETH, Solana doesn’t yet have a major ETF backing it. We think the next leg up will likely come from ETF-driven inflows.

Kanye West launches the YZY token.

The Yeezy Money ecosystem includes:

• Ye Pay: A payment processor supporting YZY, USDC, and traditional payments

• YZY Card: A non-custodial debit card for spending YZY and stablecoins globally

Bitcoin tagged a fresh all-time high of $123,000 before cooling off to around $116,000. $SOL briefly broke $200 (hell yeah), pushing its market cap past $105 billion, before eating a -10% dip back to ~$184 (as of writing). That came with $57 million in liquidations, mostly late longs getting burned.

Solana’s chart seems like a great set up to rip through the resistance at $200-$220. If It can hold the support at $170-$185, than we should be good the next leg up.

Meanwhile, interest in a Solana ETF is... meh for now. ETH and BTC are hogging the spotlight, but none of the institutional giga-brains (Blackrock, Fidelity..) have listed their ETFs yet. Stay tuned.

Also worth noting: Solana increased its block size by 20%, boosting throughput 💪.

Air drop Farming Gone Wrong 🫣

X was buzzing this week after reports surfaced that a solana-focused investment fund, Asymmetric (founded by Joe McCann), is down ~ 78–85% YTD 💀

Apparently, their strategy involved “deliberate liquidations” to max out $HYPE rewards trying to farm Hyperliquid’s Season 2 air drop.

• The fund racked up losses through liquidation-heavy “delta-neutral” farming

• Some have speculated that Joe’s fund was heavily shorting ETH, which backfired.

Hyperliquids first airdrop (Nov 2024) gave out 31% of supply to early users, with another 38.88% set aside for future rewards. Hence, the Season 2 farming frenzy.

Token Spotlight: Graphite Protocol

$GP is having a moment — up +3,800% this month.

So, what’s behind the face melting rally?

Turns out, Graphite owns 40% of BonkFun, the memecoin launchpad that’s been eating Pump.fun’s lunch.

• 7.6% of BonkFun’s revenue gets used to buy back and burn $GP.

That’s a juicy flywheel.

Comparing their market caps you can see why people are fomo-ing into the Bonk-beta trade:

• CLARITY Act: Clearly defines non-security cryptos, opening doors for ETFs.

• Anti-CBDC Act: Blocks the creation of a centralized digital dollar.

Oh, and one more thing…

The Trump administration just authorized 401k plans to hold crypto, private equity, and commodities. “Hurry up Grandpa, you’re gonna miss the pump!”

Pump.fun VS. BONK

PumpFun raised $600M in 12 minutes at a whopping $4B FDV. But the token ($PUMP) has struggled post-ICO. After a quick +75% spike to $0.007, it’s now down -40% and barely holding above launch price.

Given the ultra-bullish environment, it smells like a bull trap shakeout before the next mega-send.

Meanwhile, BONK is quietly stealing the memecoin spotlight:

Crypto markets took a hit last week as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East escalated, but came back strong after Trump attempted to wrangle a ceasefire deal. In reaction to the US bombing Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites, the markets risked-off. Bitcoin slipped below 100K for first time in 50-days, while Solana dropped to $128.82, before bouncing back to 106K and $140 respectfully.

Historically, war headlines trigger short-term market pullbacks as fear and uncertainty spikes. But once the dust settles, markets often bounce and the appetite for risk-on investments returns. Why? basically:

Institutional demand remains strong

Despite the sell-off heading into last weekend, institutional demand for the Bitcoin has been soaring. Yesterday saw a massive net inflow of $588 Million and marked the 11th consecutive day of positive flows.

Retail sold, institutions bought more, there’s a lesson in there.

Circle’s IPO Steals the Show

Circle Internet Group, Inc., issuer of the USDC stablecoin, made waves with its NYSE debut (ticker: CRCL) earlier this month. These numbers are shocking:

• CRCL IPO’d at $31/share on June 5th, valuing Circle at $6.8 billion.

• The IPO was 25x oversubscribed and raised $1.05 billion, driven by institutional heavyweights like JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs.

• By June 23rd, CRCL peaked at $299(almost 10x), with a $66.5 billion market cap, briefly eclipsing the total amount of USDC in circulation ~$61 billion.

• Helped by the stablecoin bill passed by the U.S. Senate in June 2025. For Circle, the bill enhances USDC’s credibility by:

  • Providing regulatory clarity

  • Potentially expanding USDC’s use in payments, remittances, and DeFi, driving transaction volume and revenue.

  • Positioning Circle to compete more effectively against rivals like Tether, who are much less transparent

Solana has become the rails for stablecoin payments. CRCL’s market success bodes well for Solana’s upcoming spot ETF.

• Solana-based DeFi Development Corp partnered with Kraken to launch the first tokenized U.S.-listed crypto treasury stock on Solana via their xStocks platform

• Republic, the crypto investment platform, has also announced plans to launch stocks on Solana

• Sol Strategies, holding 3.6M SOL ($440M), became the 19th largest Solana validator and filed for a Nasdaq listing under ticker STKE.

• Invesco and Galaxy Digital registered a trust for a potential Solana ETF

• VanEck’s Solana ETF was listed on the DTCC platform with ticker VSOL

• Fiserv, a major financial technology company, is launching a digital asset platform featuring a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin called FIUSD. It will run on the Solana blockchain and be available to Fiserv’s network of approximately 10,000 financial institutions and 6 million merchants.

Circle Internet Financial, issuer of the USDC stablecoin, is set to go public on the NYSE under the ticker "CRCL," with an expected IPO date in early June 2025. USDC, is the world’s second-largest stablecoin with a ~$60B market cap.

The company filed its S-1 in April after a confidential draft in January. This marks its second attempt at going public, following a failed $9B SPAC deal in 2021. Circle is targeting a valuation of ~$6 billion. In 2024, it generated $1.68 billion in revenue, with over 99% coming from interest on USDC reserves. However it also saw net income fall 42% to around $156 million. JPMorgan and Citigroup are lead underwriters; retail investors will gain access post-IPO.

Welcome back to your weekly roundup of the biggest news in crypto. Bitcoin just posted its strongest weekly gain since the U.S. elections, fuelled largely by massive ETF inflows. Institutional adoption is accelerating, and the regulatory environment continues to ease.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Arizona’s House passed a bill allowing up to 10% of state funds to be invested into a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR). With this, Arizona becomes the first state to formally create an SBR. 28 other states are in the process of introducing similar legislation.

The Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a huge net inflow of $3.6 billion over the past 10 days. BlackRock’s IBIT alone recorded nearly $1 billion in inflows yesterday. As economic uncertainty lingers, Bitcoin’s role as a global hedge is becoming more obvious.

Meanwhile, MicroStrategy bought another 15,355 Bitcoin for roughly $1.42 billion. They now hold a staggering 535,555 BTC valued around $37.9 billion.

Institutional Investment Surges: Several major players including DeFi Development Corp., GSR, Galaxy Digital, and Upexi invested nearly $1 billion into $SOL last week.

• DeFi Development Corp. filed a $1 billion shelf offering with the SEC to accumulate $SOL, similar to MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin strategy.

• Galaxy Digital rotated $105 million out of Ethereum into $SOL. (lmao)

• Upexi is eyeing $100 million in Solana accumulation.

Solflare launched its USDC debit card. There are at least five Solana debit card projects currently: Solflare Card, SolCard, Solswipe, KAST Solana Card, and Solacard.

Technical Analysis

Bitcoin is sitting at a critical level. $95K is major resistance, with $100K the next major milestone if broken. Regardless, we are in way better shape than a month ago.

The Global M2 Money Supply (offset by 3 months) remains one of the most accurate leading indicators. And if the trend holds, new ATH’s could be on-deck for May.

Solana is also pressing up against a major resistance zone at $150. The next big level looks to be around $180. The yellow trendline could be sticky, but if Bitcoin pops here, Solana likely follows.

The Solana memecoin launchpad scene(industry?) just got some fresh competition.

Raydium’s LaunchLab stumbled out of the gates, but they’ve now partnered with Bonk to create LetsBonk.fun, combining Raydium’s backend infrastructure with BONK’s diehard community.

As a result, volume spiked, and they’ve already hit a couple multi-million dollar runners like HOSICO and LETSBONK.

Global markets caught a bid this week as U.S.-China trade negotiations finally showed signs of life.

After weeks of tariff-fueled chaos, including a brutal 145% tax on Chinese imports, investors are clinging to any hope of de-escalation. While India and Japan moved to secure side deals with the U.S., China’s drawing a hard line, warning against any agreements made at its expense. Although there’s been no official breakthrough yet, Trump says a “very good deal” could be on the horizon and that he’s “willing to play ball”.

Meanwhile, after spending weeks publicly torching Fed Chairman, Jerome Powell — calling him “a major loser” who’s “always TOO LATE AND WRONG” on rate cuts, Trump suddenly walked it all back. On Tuesday night, he told reporters he has “no intention” of firing Jerome (not that it’s even clear he legally can). This left many analysts wondering, ‘what changed?’

The heightened global economic uncertainty saw gold hit an incredible all-time high of $3,430/oz. Recently, Bitcoin also started to decouple from U.S. tech stocks — flexing its narrative as a hedge against volatility and dollar debasement.

For now, the markets are breathing again.

Here are some other notable headlines:

• Bitcoin ETF recorded a net inflow of $912 million on Tuesday, April 22nd.

  

• Microstrategy purchases another 6,556 Bitcoin for $556 million

• SEC Leadership Shift: Paul Atkins, sworn in as SEC chair on April 21, 2025, is expected to adopt a crypto-friendly stance, potentially easing regulatory pressures.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

Just as we predicted in last weeks issue, when Bitcoin broke the purple trend line, it EXPLODED higher. In the last 48 hours, Bitcoin jumped from $84K to $93K. As previously mentioned, getting a daily close above $88K would be a great sign of a reversal.

Looking forward, $95K could be a tough resistance zone, however things are looking very positive for May.

Sol has been up-only since retesting it’s long term support at $100. It’s currently at $150, which could create some resistance. What really stands out is the long-term yellow resistance-turned-support trend line. Don’t be surprised if it bounces off this and then rips through, just like in November 2024 (see above).

• The market cap of stablecoins on Solana hit an all-time high of 12.8B, 4x the total market cap of stables 1 year ago.

  

• Sol Strategies announces a $500 million convertible note facility to buy Solana

• Raydium launched their pumpfun competitor, LaunchLab. So far it has not drawn much interest.

• Trump token gets a pump. No doubt market makers are doing some heavy lifting. There is a very aggressive vesting schedule with $6.5M+ tokens unlocking daily for the next 2 years.

Gooood Morning Vybers,

The US–China trade war is in full swing, and it's playing out like a high-stakes poker game with neither side willing to fold.

As a result, the stock and crypto market has been getting tossed around. The 90-day tariff pause has provided some relief, but investor confidence is noticeably fading. In addition, the US bond market is in trouble with yields SPIKING and pressure is mounting for the Fed to step in.

Buckle up for another alpha-filled issue of Market Vybe.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is at $85K and rebounding nicely. Bitcoin looks like it’s breaking through the purple resistance line. It’s next challenge will be to get a ‘daily close’ above $88K. If that happens, it’s GAME ON.

Solana is currently trading at $131. With Bitcoin, it’s clear that the bull market is still intact, however during this recent pullback most altcoins erased 50% or more from their all time highs. As a result, the charts are more uncertain.

It looks like Solana wants to form a head-and-shoulders reversal pattern, so I’m predicting one more mini dip before the chart shoots back up towards the yellow trendline and finds some resistance in the mid $150 range. Here’s how I think it could play out 👇

Last week, the U.S.-China trade war intensified as the Trump administration escalated tariffs on Chinese goods to 145%. China retaliated by raising tariffs on U.S. imports to 125%, including banning all export of rare earth metals (which are essential for battery and E.V.’s).

The markets got some relief on Saturday when a few critical industries, like consumer electronics, were granted exemptions. Consumer electronics (e.g. computers and cell phones) make up 35% of all US imports from China.

Did the bond market influence tariff decisions?

After Trump announced the sweeping tariffs, bond yields spiked hard. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield jumped from 3.9% to 4.5% — a 15% increase — while 30-year yields briefly crossed the 5% mark, up more than 17%, signalling rising fears of both inflation and a recession.

Why does this matter? Because higher yields makes borrowing more expensive, from mortgages to corporate loans, this puts serious stress on the financial system. Even worse, the U.S. has $9 trillion in debt that needs to be refinanced this year. If rates stay high, this becomes way more costly, putting pressure on the government’s already strained budget.

So the White House blinked. Within 14 hours of China’s retaliatory tariffs kicking in, Trump paused the additional tariffs — announcing a 90-day delay to calm the markets and give trade negotiations more time.

The Whitehouse denies insider trading allegations.

Right before the S&P 500 (SPY) spiked, someone bought a huge number of call options (bets that the index would go up that same day). These were zero-day options, meaning they expire worthless by the end of the day unless SPY rose quickly.

At the time, they were almost worthless. Then Trump announced the 90 day tariff delay and the markets shot up. Those dirt-cheap options exploded in value. A $100K bet turned into $21 million in minutes.

Mantra DAO exits stage left

On April 13th, A major RWA project Mantra DAO crashed 90% in hours, erasing $6 Billion in market value. The team attributed the fall to "reckless forced liquidations" by centralized exchanges during low-liquidity trading, with no specific exchange/culprit named.

If you ask us, a multi-billion coin doesn’t just fall 90% in hours for no-reason.. This whole situation stinks.

• SOL/ETH ratio closes at all time high.

• Fartcoin ($FARTCOIN) surged over 66% this past week and 160% in the past month, reaching $0.9273, despite broader market volatility driven by U.S.-China tariff escalations. It outperformed every coin in the top-300 by Market Cap

• Memecoins are back? Pee Pee Poo Poo ($PPPP) surged 8,600% and hitting a market cap of $8 million, before sharply retracing. Furification ($FUR), which launched less than 12 hours ago, is up 9,600%, at $5.3 million. We are a VERY SERIOUS industry. 😂

Last week, both the crypto and stock markets continued to get absolutely crushed, largely in response to the Trump administration’s shockingly high tariffs.

On Monday, tensions escalated further when China fired back with retaliatory tariffs of 34%. While some other countries have shown a willingness to compromise, this tit-for-tat between the two largest economies in the world is shaking the markets.

Monday’s price action was nothing short of extraordinary. After the Nikkei and Shanghai Stock Exchange both dropped more than -7%, the S&P futures were down as much at -5% before markets opened.

It seemed like the US markets were heading towards a red day..

Until, at 10AM EST, CNBC reported that the Trump administration were considering a 90 day tariff pause.. and US stocks added $3 trillion in minutes.

However, just 30 minutes later, the White House clarified that the report was ‘fake news’, and they had no plans to delay the tariffs.

Was this really just a miscommunication? Or did someone need a well-timed liquidity event to unload an underwater position? We’ll probably never find out.

What this episode did confirm for us, though, is that this pullback feels very manufactured, and could be reversed just as quickly.

Here’s where things get even more wild:

Monday afternoon, the U.S. announced more tariffs on China. This time, an additional +50%, bringing the total tariff rate on Chinese goods to an eye-watering 104%. And yet, despite the escalation, the NASDAQ curiously ended the day green.

Meanwhile, crypto hasn't been so lucky. Trade war fears are hitting risk assets hard. As of writing:

Bitcoin dominance has surged to 63%, its highest in 4 years. It's becoming clear that if the market is going to recover, it’ll have to be Bitcoin leading the way.

What Are These Tariffs Really About?

Yes, America’s manufacturing sector has been hollowed out over the last 50 years. But many of the jobs that were offshored simply don’t fit within today’s U.S. economy.

Take Vietnam, for example.

The U.S. just slapped 46% tariffs on Vietnamese imports. In its 2024 fiscal year, Nike manufactured 50% of its footwear and 28% of its apparel in Vietnam — thanks to their ultra-low labor costs. Vietnamese factory workers earn roughly $323/month, or about $2–$3/hour.

Now, with the new tariffs, the cost of importing a single pair of sneakers could rise by $8 or more per unit, directly eating into Nike’s margins, which already hover around just 11% after expenses.

But here’s the thing, this won’t bring manufacturing jobs back to America.

Why?

• Because Americans aren’t going to work for $2–$3/hour. That’s not viable. Not even close.

• Investing billions in creating a new factory might be a total waste of money if these policies are reversed in 3.5 years (when Trump’s out of office)

Instead, the added costs will get passed onto consumers, fuelling inflation.

Bottom line: Products get more expensive, Nike’s revenue and margins will take a hit, and as a result some people are going to get laid off.. It’s hard to see how this ends well for anyone in the near term.

It’s stock soared 842% on Monday, after the announcement.

Janover joins TSXV-listed Sol Strategies as the latest public company to pivot toward Solana. Sol Strategies recently acquired an additional 24,000 SOL to add to their holdings.

I am officially tired of winning.

Last week, PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditure) data came in hotter than expected, implying that interest rates will stay higher for longer. This was followed by a fresh barrage of tariffs, this time targeting the auto and pharmaceuticals industry. As a result, crypto and stocks tumbled.

To recap, in March:

• The S&P fell -5.2%,

• The NASDAQ is down -8.1%,

• Bitcoin is down -2.0%,

• & Solana fell -15.3%

Maybe even more important than all of this, OpenAI’s image generator recently got an upgrade, and for a brief moment the entire internet was ‘Studio Ghibli-fied’. It was wholesome.

What is "Liberation Day"?

"Liberation Day" is April 2, 2025, when Trump plans to unveil a significant wave of tariffs aimed at reshaping U.S. trade policy. He’s framed it as a pivotal moment to "free" America from what he calls unfair foreign trade practices, promising to restore wealth to the U.S. economy.

He purposely avoided setting it for April 1st, because he wanted to make sure people knew he was serious. I wish I was joking.

Trump has hyped it as "the big one," contrasting it with earlier, smaller tariff actions like the 25% levy on foreign autos announced March 26th, 2025.

It’s difficult to judge whether “Liberation Day” is already priced-in, and therefore a buying opportunity. But to give you some hope, Jim Cramer(the ultimate inverse signal) said “I can’t think of a dumber day to buy stocks than today[March 31st].”

Technical Analysis

Bitcoin got rejected off the downward trend line for the 5th time! It does appear that we could be forming a head-and-shoulders reversal pattern. If we can rally through resistance, that would be a good sign of a bottom on bitcoin.

Bitcoin’s correlation with Global M2 (liquidity) has been well documented. It’s price typically lags 70-80 days behind Global M2. If this pattern holds, Bitcoin should show some strength in the coming months.

• Solana’s network revenue data is showing promising signs of a recovery. Solana’s 7d revenue of $18.5M is up 54% week-over-week and makes up 39% of total protocol rev marketshare.

• BlackRock’s $1.7B BUIDL fund now live on the Solana blockchain after debuting on Ethereum last year. It’s expected to hit $2.0B in April.

• Permissionless Bitcoin debuts on Solana with Zeus Network’s zBTC

• Strategy recently added 22,048 BTC to their balance sheet for $1.9 billion.

Trump Tokens Begin to Unlock: A Short Seller’s Dream?

The Trump Token ($TRUMP), launched in January 2025 on Solana, initially made headlines with its explosive debut. Marketed as a "presidential meme coin," it quickly surged to a $15 billion market cap and hit an all-time high of $75—only to crash over 85% within weeks, trading around $10 by late March.

Much of the skepticism stemmed from the coin’s heavily centralized ownership: 80% of the supply was allocated to Trump-affiliated entities—CIC Digital LLC, Fight Fight Fight LLC—and a handful of insiders. Accusations of a classic “pump-and-dump” followed, damaging investor confidence and exposing the token’s lack of fundamental value.

Now, with the next token unlock scheduled for mid-April—just 17 days away—markets could see renewed volatility. The upcoming release will unlock 4% of the total supply, equivalent to 20% of the current circulating supply, or roughly $414 million at today’s prices. This will be followed by a daily vesting drip of 0.25%, approximately $5 million per day.

While there’s potential for a pre-unlock pump to prop up prices, the combination of concentrated ownership, weak fundamentals, and incoming supply makes $TRUMP a prime shorting candidate. For traders looking to profit from a supply-driven dip, timing and sentiment will be everything. And of course, this is not financial advice!

Last week’s headlines were dominated by one of the most significant FOMC meetings in recent history, and for now, it seems the bulls have emerged on top. We also saw a surge of positive news within the Solana ecosystem, including several major players expanding onto the network. The economic backdrop is continuing to show signs of improvement.

At the FOMC meeting on March 19, 2025, the Fed maintained its benchmark interest rate at 4.25%–4.5%, a move that was widely expected by the market.

Pro Tip: The CME Group has a tool called fedwatch that shows the probabilities of FOMC rate moves.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell's comments, along with the updated economic projections, conveyed a cautious yet slightly dovish message, citing "remarkably high uncertainty" due to the effects of the Trump administrations policies such as tariffs.

Additionally, the Fed announced it would slow the pace of quantitative tightening (QT) starting April 1, 2025, reducing the monthly cap on treasury securities runoff from $25 billion to $5 billion. This follows a previous adjustment in June 2024, when the cap was lowered from $60 billion to $25 billion. To put it simply, when QT ends, QE begins (A.K.A. money printer goes brrr).

As a result, Bitcoin is up 4.5% and Solana is up 12% in the past 7 days. While we’re hesitant to declare the market dip over, we’ll take what we can get. 😂😂😐

• Pump.fun’s new DEX, PumpSwap, is crushing it. They just hit $454M in trading volume, 243K users, and $1.064M in fees in the past 24 hours. It now accounts for 14% of ALL trading volume on Solana (and it’s still climbing). 👇

• A market reset brings fresh memes: Morning Routine, is probably one of the funniest memes we’ve seen in a while and it might have just saved the trench’s.

• Solana Futures ETFs Launch: Last week saw the debut of Solana futures ETFs on the CME Group and Nasdaq, with offerings like the Volatility Shares Solana ETF (SOLZ) and the leveraged 2X Solana ETF (SOLT).

• Blackrock’s BUIDL fund expands to Solana after debuting on Ethereum last year. The fund holds $1.7 billion in cash and U.S. Treasuries, with expectations to hit $2 billion by April.

New Solana DEX, Titan, gives better prices than Jupiter 80% of the time.

The Titan Exchange is a new DEX aggregator on Solana. It features a proprietary routing algorithm named Talos, designed to optimize trade execution by sourcing quotes from multiple aggregators, including its own, to secure the best possible prices for users.

Launched privately around March 20, 2025, Titan claims to outperform Jupiter, the leading DEX aggregator on Solana, with 80% of swaps, according to statements from its CEO, Chris Chung, and early user feedback.

While still in its mainnet beta phase, Titan aims to challenge Jupiter’s dominance by focusing on superior pricing, though it currently lacks some of Jupiter’s broader features like perps or limit orders. This emerging competition could drive innovation and better outcomes for Solana traders seeking cost-efficient swaps.

Jupiter’s reputation recently took a hit after their co-founder, Ben Chow, stepped down for his involvement in $LIBRA, $MELANIA and other memecoin scandals.

Furthermore, JUP holders recently expressed concerns over a vote that would have significantly increased the circulating JUP supply by paying 120,000 JUP per month to each of 65 new team members as bonuses. That’s in addition to their USDC salaries. These recent missteps could create an opening for a new leading DEX aggregator.

Bitcoin, crypto and the broader financial markets might’ve just kissed the floor, and there’s a stack of clues pointing to it. Let’s break it down:

Bitcoin’s CME Gap Fills

Bitcoin’s been playing gap-fill bingo, and it just knocked off a big one. That CME futures gap from November 10, 2024 (around $77,930-$80,600), finally closed with last Tuesday’s (March 11th) dip to $76,600. Historically, these gaps act like magnets—price loves to revisit them. With this one filled, some traders see it as a “reset” signal, paving the way for a potential bounce.

The DXY is Falling

A falling DXY (U.S. Dollar Index) is generally positive for risk assets because it indicates a weaker U.S. dollar, which can make dollar-denominated assets more attractive to foreign investors. Additionally, a weaker dollar often signals expectations of looser monetary policy or economic slowdown, which can encourage risk-taking behavior in the markets.

Global Liquidity is RISING

Global M2 represents the total liquid money supply across major economies, including cash, checking deposits, savings.. etc. Recently, it has been leading Bitcoin’s price by about three months, which makes sense: as people gain more liquidity, some of it naturally flows into higher-risk investments.

Rate Cuts on the Horizon

The Fed’s FOMC meeting on March 19 has everyone’s attention. Falling inflation (February’s CPI came in at 2.8%) and a shaky jobs report could expedite cutting rates. Futures data from CME’s FedWatch tool shows the markets pricing in no-change in March, however odds of a May quarter point rate cut are up to 20%. Powell speech on Wednesday should provide more clarity and give investors the confidence they need to deploy capital.

This week, we’d like to highlight a crypto memecoin launchpad that takes a unique approach.

The Jelly Jelly app is an AI-powered platform for recording video chats or podcasts, auto-clipping them into shareable snippets. In their most recent townhall, they announced some major upgrades & patches, including adding tipping and other content creation incentives.

The token launched on Pumpfun in late January and quickly shot up to $250M before crashing down to $6M (-98%). It’s now building back momentum as its started to deliver on some promises.

Part 1 – The Vybe Story
